Job description
Job Overview
As an Engineering Assistant I, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and setup activities on various test platforms and inspection machines within a PCBA manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance procedures on test equipment such as ICT, AXI, Flying Probe, offline programmers, and barcode label printers based on established checklists.
- Adhere strictly to equipment safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting for hardware and software malfunctions on production line test devices to minimize downtime.
- Support physical installation and changeover of functional testers, ensuring correct fixtures and software programs are utilized.
- Perform basic repairs on test fixtures and cables, referring complex issues to senior personnel.
- Document all maintenance activities and equipment downtime accurately within the system.
- Maintain workspace organization following 5S standards and ensure tools are properly stored.
- Follow all safety requirements, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
- Exhibit shift flexibility to accommodate varying production schedules.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum Nitec or Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of experience in a PCBA manufacturing setting.
- Experience working with Keysight 3070 ICT, ViTrox AXI, or TAKAYA Flying Probe test equipment is preferred.
- Fundamental troubleshooting abilities to identify faults in test systems.
- Competence in operating diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
- Proficient user of MS Office or Google Suite productivity software.
