Role Overview

This part-time entry to junior level Business Analyst position is located in Melbourne, Victoria and offers a hybrid work setup. The role focuses on supporting Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance's (BOGA) programs and operations by providing data-driven insights and enhancing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gathering and validating data relevant to organizational programs and operations.
  • Conducting both quantitative and qualitative analyses and interpreting results.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored for internal and external audiences.
  • Documenting and refining business processes and workflows.
  • Gathering, clarifying, and managing business requirements from team members.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of tools and workflows aimed at increasing efficiency and transparency.
  • Working collaboratively with policy, communications, and operations teams to convert analytical insights into practical recommendations.
  • Balancing on-site collaboration in Melbourne with some work-from-home.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop clear conclusions.
  • Experience or aptitude for business analysis tasks, including requirements gathering and stakeholder analysis.
  • Effective communication skills, including report writing and presenting to varied stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of business process documentation, mapping, and workflow improvement techniques.
  • Capability to define and manage business requirements supporting projects and organizational needs.
  • Pursuing or holding tertiary qualifications in business, economics, public policy, data science, or closely related areas.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and data visualization; familiarity with basic statistical or analytics software is advantageous.
  • Interest in climate policy, energy transition initiatives, and international cooperation, with a dedication to evidence-based decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment, demonstrate good time management, and remain adaptable within a small, mission-driven team.
