Job Overview

This role supports the Mining Analyst by conducting fundamental research on companies within the Mining sector, focusing on precious metals mining equity and commodity analysis. You will engage with research professionals, institutional investors, and various Capital Markets stakeholders both within Canada and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine comprehensive financial models for individual companies and broader industry macroeconomic trends.
  • Maintain and enhance sector-specific databases and presentation materials.
  • Foster and manage relationships with covered companies, investors, and internal Capital Markets teams.
  • Analyze financial statements, company data, and relevant industry information.
  • Contribute to drafting research notes and sector reports.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with emphasis in Applied Science (such as Engineering, Geology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science) or Business disciplines (Finance, Accounting, Economics).
  • Preferred credentials include CA/CMA, MBA, CFA designation, or current CFA exam enrollment.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and ability to quickly adapt to new software platforms.
  • Detail-focused with robust analytical capabilities to identify trends beyond mainstream data.
  • Energetic, self-driven, able to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines, sometimes over extended periods.
  • Process-oriented with the ability to rapidly acquire new job skills.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for equity and financial markets.

Experience in natural resources/extractive industries or research roles is an asset.

Additional Information

  • Standard working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
  • Employment type: Full-time, salaried, regular position.

  • Compensation ranges between $80,000 and $115,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, registration status, performance, goals, market conditions, and business requirements.
