About the Role
We are collaborating with a reputable main contractor in Dubai that is known for successfully completing extensive projects across the UAE, including high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. With ongoing project acquisitions and growth, the company aims to enhance its pre-construction team by appointing an experienced Estimating Manager to lead estimating operations, develop competitive commercial strategies, and contribute significantly to securing upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the preparation and submission of precise and competitive tenders for large construction projects.
- Manage and guide the estimating team throughout the tendering phases.
- Analyze tender documents, specifications, drawings, and contract demands.
- Compile detailed cost estimations, quantity surveys, and pricing approaches.
- Source and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers effectively.
- Identify risks associated with projects and explore value engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with commercial, procurement, engineering, and project delivery teams during bid preparations.
- Participate in pre-tender meetings, site inspections, and client clarification discussions as necessary.
- Ensure timely tender submissions adhering strictly to company protocols and deadlines.
- Maintain and update the company's estimating database, cost benchmarks, and historical pricing data.
- Present tender analyses and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
- Over 10 years of experience in the construction sector, including a minimum of 4 years as an Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator.
- Prior experience working with a recognized main contractor within the UAE or broader GCC region.
- Deep understanding of local construction practices, procurement methods, and market pricing standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in pricing large-scale building projects.
- Extensive knowledge of subcontractor and supplier markets throughout the UAE.
- Strong commercial acumen paired with analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional leadership qualities along with proficient communication and stakeholder management skills.
