Executive - Logistics

Overview

Coats, a global leader in thread manufacturing and performance materials for apparel and footwear, is seeking an Executive - Logistics to join their team in Ambasamudram. The company has a legacy spanning over 250 years, operates in 50 countries, and employs over 17,000 people. This role involves managing logistics, production planning, warehousing, and dispatch activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop machine-specific spinning and twisting schedules aligned with demand and raw material availability.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QAD, Procurement, and Planning teams to adhere to plans and ensure raw materials are ready.
• Manage receipts for raw materials, inter-unit transfers, sourced yarns, and finished goods in SAP with proper documentation and reconciliation.
• Enforce FIFO practices, proper labeling, and organized storage of materials in warehousing.
• Support preparation and documentation needed for Global Recycled Standard (GRS), including recycled raw material receipts, Bill of Lading, shipping documents, and data uploads to relevant portals.
• Track daily production plans versus actual output and assist in meeting dispatch commitments.
• Plan daily dispatches, coordinate with trucking services, and assist with export and domestic invoicing processes.
• Conduct safety briefings; report hazards or near misses; ensure safe loading, unloading, and use of material handling equipment (MHE).
• Prepare monthly reports such as HSN code reconciliations, warehouse statements, slow-moving inventory reports, MB52 versus handling unit reconciliations, and EcoVerde data reporting.
• Support quarterly physical inventory counts in SAP and assist during ISO and GRS audits.
• Coordinate export requirements with planners weekly and help finalize purchase orders.
• Submit requests for new GL item codes and assist in Master Data template preparation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; MBA in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• Between 4 and 7 years’ experience in supply chain or related functions.
• Familiarity with SAP modules PP, MM, and SD.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience in production planning, warehousing, inventory control, and logistics operations.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of ISO standards, 5S methodology, GOTS, and GRS compliance standards.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills across functions.

Additional Information

• Additional certifications or qualifications in supply chain management are considered advantageous.

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for executing and coordinating logistics, production planning, warehousing, and dispatch activities at the Ambasamudram facility. The Executive ensures compliance with safety standards and operational procedures, maintains inventory discipline, supports accurate production planning, and enables timely delivery to customers through effective cross-department collaboration.
