Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Facilities Management Director to head facilities operations for a significant project in Saudi Arabia. This role calls for someone who can shape FM strategy, supervise everyday operations, control budgets and resources, maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards, and strengthen performance across all facilities-related services.
You will guide cross-functional teams and work closely with key stakeholders to help deliver business objectives while keeping service quality consistently high.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and roll out the overall facilities management strategy, along with the related policies and operating procedures.
- Direct all FM functions, covering hard services, soft services, maintenance, and asset management.
- Keep facilities and infrastructure running efficiently through effective operations, upkeep, and ongoing improvements.
- Handle departmental budgeting, expense control, forecasting, and financial tracking.
- Coach, support, and lead multidisciplinary FM teams to deliver strong results.
- Work with internal teams, clients, contractors, and outside stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Set, track, and improve KPIs and SLAs.
- Make sure all activities follow health, safety, environmental, and regulatory obligations.
- Promote innovation, process improvement, and best practices across facilities management.
- Prepare reports, operational reviews, and strategic input for senior leadership.
- Monitor vendor and contractor performance to confirm contractual commitments are being met.
- Contribute to organizational goals through smart resource planning and risk management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field.
- At least 15 years of overall experience in facilities management.
- At least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
- Professional facilities management certifications will be considered an advantage.
- Strong grasp of FM principles, strategy development, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience building and applying policies, procedures, and operational systems.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with multidisciplinary teams.
- Solid financial skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review data and make strategic recommendations.
- Good knowledge of HSE and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-moving and demanding environment.
- Strategic approach with a focus on efficiency and service quality.
- Experience managing large-scale facilities management projects is preferred.
- Experience with government, semi-government, or major infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia is preferred.
- Familiarity with international FM standards and asset management practices is preferred.
