Job Overview
The Field Service Engineer specializing in GPS installations is tasked with installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining GPS tracking units and associated IoT devices in various vehicles. This hands-on role requires frequent onsite visits, troubleshooting device issues, collaborating with support teams, and ensuring all equipment operates according to company standards.
Core Duties
- Mount GPS tracking devices on vehicles including cars, buses, trucks, and two-wheelers.
- Connect multiple peripherals such as power supply, ignition, fuel sensors, relays, panic buttons, door sensors, and air-conditioning sensors.
- Configure the devices utilizing mobile applications and SMS-based commands.
- Ensure correct placement of devices and secure wiring installations.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and reinstall devices when necessary.
- Respond to breakdown calls and field customer complaints promptly.
- Provide basic operational training to drivers or clients using the devices.
- Manage inventory of materials assigned for field operations.
- Coordinate with backend and support teams for device activation and testing procedures.
- Follow company protocols (SOPs) for installation and maintain scheduled timelines.
Requirements
- Educational qualifications: ITI or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Automobile engineering, or equivalent credentials.
- Candidates who have completed 10th or 12th standard with relevant field experience are also eligible.
- Possession of a valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory.
- Willingness to travel both locally and within the state.
- Flexibility to work weekends and be available for emergency or out-of-state calls.
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly salary ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 depending on experience.
- Reimbursement for travel expenses including fuel allowance.
- Provision of daily allowances during work-related travel.
