About the Role and Company
Barnesmore Windfarm in County Donegal, Ireland is seeking a dedicated Field Supervisor to join ScottishPower Renewables, part of the Iberdrola Group. This company is a global leader in wind energy, operating over 40 energy parks and developing pioneering renewable projects. The position offers a salary beginning at €47,280 per year, complemented by a 10% annual bonus and single-person healthcare coverage. The role features a flexible working schedule with an application deadline of July 24, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operational management across assigned windfarm sites, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.
- Enforce adherence to SPR Management Systems, including OSHAS 45001 safety standards and ISO14001 environmental protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive safety and technical inspections and audits, reporting regularly on issues and progress.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors to guarantee safe and effective completion of site works, attending sites during non-routine operations.
- Perform pre-work task assessments and conduct wind turbine inspections, including fault resetting following safety regulations.
- Collaborate with Area Supervisors and Managers to prepare and update OPEX budgets and assist in developing site-specific policies and procedures.
- Liaise with internal teams, landowners, and emergency services as necessary.
- Provide 24-hour emergency call-out response and carry out limited high-voltage apparatus operations under electrical safety rules.
- Maintain workforce resourcing for periods of increased activity, and oversee personnel training and cover.
Experience and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of electro-mechanical generation equipment with practical application of company safety rules or equivalent systems.
- Educational background at HNC/HND/City & Guilds level or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt quickly in dynamic environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with SCADA systems; experience with Nordex, Vestas Siemens, Ecotechnia, or Acciona turbines is advantageous.
- Windfarm operational management experience required.
- Must hold a full UK driving license, formal working at height qualification, and ability to work in enclosed spaces.
- Willingness to travel across the ScottishPower operational portfolio is necessary.
