Role Overview
TD Wealth is hiring a Financial Planner in Cornwall, Ontario, for a 37.5-hour workweek. This is a client-facing role focused on helping mass affluent clients build and execute holistic financial plans that support their personal and financial goals.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is CAD 60,000 to CAD 70,000 per year. In addition, the role is eligible for commission-based earnings. Final compensation may differ based on skills, experience, role-related knowledge, location, and other business needs.
What You’ll Do
You will build trusted relationships with clients, provide tailored financial guidance, and contribute to business growth while supporting a high standard of service.
- Work with clients to understand their financial priorities and life goals, then carry out detailed reviews and provide ongoing guidance.
- Use data and insights to assess outcomes, develop recommendations, and improve financial programs, policies, and practices.
- Work closely with teammates to meet shared goals while improving client experience and service quality.
- Track productivity and service performance, identify ways to improve efficiency, and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Keep up with market trends, industry practices, and changing expectations in financial planning.
- Share knowledge with colleagues by mentoring and supporting them in a collaborative environment.
- Help maintain a strong risk and control culture that aligns with the organization’s risk appetite.
- Contribute actively as a team member in a positive, client-focused workplace.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate brings experience in banking or financial services, an interest in relationship-based sales, and a commitment to becoming a qualified financial planning professional.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of banking services experience is preferred, especially in managing client relationships and offering investment advice.
- Willingness to obtain Registered Representative (RR) licensing through the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) if not already licensed.
- Commitment to earning the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation within the first 3 years in the role.
- For CFP eligibility, you must have a university degree or meet one of the following: up to 10 years of qualifying work experience, or at least 5 years in good standing as a QAFP professional at the time of applying.
