About the Role

This role is pivotal in managing merchant-related financial operations, acting as the main finance liaison for payouts, settlements, and reconciliations. The associate will collaborate extensively with multiple internal teams such as Product, Sales, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to promptly address financial and system challenges and ensure merchant payments are accurate and timely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary financial contact for merchant payout operations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Legal, Risk, Compliance) to resolve any operational or system financial issues.
  • Clarify financial concepts for internal teams by explaining payout logic, settlement frameworks, and merchant settings.
  • Support preparation, validation, and reconciliation of merchant payouts, including fees, VAT, and deductions, across internal platforms, ERP, and banking statements.
  • Coordinate with banks and payment partners to troubleshoot failed, delayed, or reversed transactions ensuring accurate payouts.
  • Contribute to launching new payout models, markets, or finance workflows with a FinOps perspective.
  • Help develop internal documentation, FAQs, and training content to aid team knowledge sharing.
  • Identify and assist with implementing process improvements to boost operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support month-end closing activities and audit processes both internally and externally.
  • Execute additional tasks as necessary to maintain smooth financial operations.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in financial operations, payments operations, accounting, or related FinTech roles.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms like NetSuite or similar, and proficient in Microsoft Excel handling large data reconciliations.
  • Experience with CRM or ticketing systems is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within data-driven, cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive attitude, accountability, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Adaptability to dynamic, fast-paced environments and shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to work in flexible rotational shifts coordinated with team requirements.
