About the Role
We are seeking a Founding Head Brewer to spearhead the launch of a new craft brewery situated in the vibrant Clearwater-St. Pete area of Florida. This is a critical, hands-on position for an individual passionate about brewing and eager to establish a brewery from its inception. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in getting the brewery operational and producing high-quality beer.
Responsibilities
- Lead recipe development and innovation for craft beer production.
- Oversee all brewing operations, from raw material handling to finished product.
- Manage cellar operations, including fermentation, conditioning, and packaging.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the brewing process.
- Develop and execute production plans to meet demand.
- Establish the brewery's operational standards, culture, and best practices.
- Perform all necessary tasks to ensure smooth brewery operations, including cleaning (CIP), material handling, and equipment maintenance.
- Operate brewing equipment and potentially a forklift.
Requirements
- Proven professional brewing experience within a production brewery setting.
- Proficiency in brewing science, quality assurance, and sanitation protocols.
- Physical capability to handle demanding tasks such as lifting 50 lb grain bags, moving kegs, and operating machinery.
- A proactive and self-starting attitude, taking initiative without constant supervision.
- Enthusiasm for building a new venture rather than joining an established one.
- Ability to commence work promptly.
- A deep passion for brewing exceptional beer and contributing to a new brewery's success.
