Project Overview
We are seeking a freelance video editor for a podcast series centered on single-word themes from Caribbean diaspora and Black cultural viewpoints. This role includes editing video and audio for 15 podcast episodes: 12 solo 30-minute shows and 3 guest episodes lasting 45 minutes each. The final deliverables will be polished YouTube videos, clean lower thirds, high-quality audio exports, and three vertical social media clips per episode.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce edited video and audio versions for all 15 episodes in the season, adhering to format lengths.
- Deliver color-corrected YouTube-ready videos with clean lower thirds.
- Export superior audio quality files for each episode.
- Create three vertical clips per episode designed for social media, focusing on impactful moments.
- Maintain a warm and editorial visual style that resonates culturally with the target audience.
- Use restrained, intentional pacing in editing, prioritizing thoughtful flow over hype.
- Collaborate effectively for revisions based on feedback.
Candidate Requirements
- Documented expertise editing podcast video and audio, with two to three prior examples of similar work.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, alongside competent audio editing skills.
- Strong abilities in visual storytelling, including color grading and lower third design.
- Capability to replicate given reference styles.
- Preferred understanding of Caribbean diaspora and Black cultural narratives.
- High attention to detail ensuring consistent quality throughout project duration.
- Reliable availability to meet deadlines and weekly schedules.
- Excellent communication skills to maintain responsiveness during the editing process.
