Job description

About the company

SPiNE Energy is building a cyber-secure Energy App Store for Europe and aims to provide the digital foundation for the energy transition. The company develops scalable software on top of smart-meter infrastructure to power modern energy applications.

Its API-first platform is designed to help utilities and energy providers launch new business models such as dynamic tariffs, energy management, local optimization, grid-supportive control, and flexibility trading in a dependable and future-ready way.

Role overview

In this role, you will take ownership of the frontend and user experience for a customer-facing product. You will help shape core product components, contribute to technical planning, and support the delivery of scalable solutions that work reliably in production.

Responsibilities

  • Own and further develop the frontend experience and overall user journey.
  • Build and improve key parts of the customer-facing product, from initial idea through implementation.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps and help design scalable production-ready solutions.
  • Work closely with the CTO, the engineering team, and external partners.
  • Ensure clean interfaces, maintainable code quality, and sound architectural decisions.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience creating user-friendly frontend solutions with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
  • Strong understanding of modern technology stacks, including cloud architecture, API design, data modeling, and security.
  • Experience using AI tools to support software development.
  • Ability to create UI and UX experiences that feel intuitive and visually appealing to customers.
  • Comfortable working from concept to implementation, including hands-on delivery and deployment.
  • Experience with ticketing tools such as JIRA, version control with Git, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Nice to have: exposure to IoT, energy management, or smart meter infrastructure.
  • Strong English skills and German proficiency at minimum B2 level.

Benefits

  • Work on software that contributes to decarbonizing and digitalizing the energy system.
  • Join an experienced founding team with fast decision-making and startup energy.
  • Be part of a product backed by more than 100,000 lines of code and active collaboration with established industry partners.
  • Enjoy a culture based on trust, ownership, and practical solutions rather than bureaucracy.
