Job description
About the Company
Medow Health is building artificial intelligence tools that streamline the day-to-day work of medical specialists. Established by professionals from healthcare, data science, and technology, the company creates products that cut down administrative load and help clinicians focus more on patients. Its solutions are designed for real clinical settings and aim to deliver technology that is smart, efficient, and highly accurate.
The company also works with major Australian specialist EMR platforms such as Genie and Gentu, bringing AI into the systems practitioners already use to improve practice performance and the overall user experience.
Role Overview
This role is for a full-stack engineer who can take features from concept through to release, work across the product stack, and contribute to AI-powered healthcare software used in real practice environments.
What You Will Do
- Take features from idea to production and own delivery end to end.
- Develop and support integrations with practice management software.
- Contribute to systems that handle real-time audio and voice interactions.
- Develop and operate production use cases for large language models, including assessing output quality.
- Partner with product, clinical, and data science teams to convert real-world issues into working software.
Technology Stack
The engineering stack is fully TypeScript-based, with React on the frontend, Node using NestJS on the backend, and PostgreSQL as the database layer.
What They’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has experience in startup or scale-up environments, is comfortable working through ambiguity, and prefers shipping and improving over waiting for perfect requirements. They should have a proven record of building production-ready web applications across the stack, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and hands-on experience with React or a similar frontend framework. Experience creating secure, scalable APIs on Node is important, while NestJS experience is an added advantage.
Strong fundamentals in relational databases, API design, and testing are expected. The role also calls for someone who can work effectively with non-technical stakeholders and translate business and clinical needs into practical technical solutions. Familiarity with AI tools in everyday development work is also important, along with good judgment about when those tools are useful and when they are not.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms.
- Background in healthcare or another regulated industry.
- Hands-on experience building products on top of large language models.
Other Details
- This is a full-time position based on site in Sydney, with 1 to 2 days per week working from home.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
- Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Australia.
