Job Overview

We are actively looking for a Full-time Mechanic to join our Alberta facilities located in Wandering River and Avenir. The main responsibility of this role is to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and fix heavy-duty manufacturing machinery to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Location and Accommodation

The role is based in either Wandering River, Alberta, or Avenir, Alberta. Shared accommodation is offered nearby at a camp for convenience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to guarantee efficient functioning of equipment and machinery.
• Identify and eliminate defective components by dismantling machinery using specialized tools.
• Create repair parts utilizing machining instruments and equipment.
• Manage inventory of equipment and spare parts by monitoring stock levels and forecasting needs.
• Cut and weld metallic components to mend broken parts.
• Compile detailed mechanical maintenance documentation and reports.
• Uphold a safe, clean workplace environment complying with all company safety policies.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven welding experience is essential.
• Familiarity with mechanical devices, pneumatic controls, and metal cutting techniques.
• Availability to work various shifts including extended hours and weekends.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving aptitude, able to collaborate effectively with fellow tradespersons and machine operators.
• Physical capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand or walk for 50 to 75 percent of the work shift.
