Role Overview
The role involves working as a Data Engineer proficient in big data technologies, cloud platforms, and programming to design, develop, and maintain data solutions within the Data & Analytics landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Hive for processing and managing large datasets, including real-time streaming data.
- Implement and maintain ETL pipelines using tools like Apache NiFi, Talend, or Informatica for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Work with data warehousing solutions such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and Snowflake to build and manage scalable data repositories.
- Leverage cloud services from AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms to deploy, manage, and scale data infrastructure and related services.
- Apply data modeling principles to design efficient, scalable data architectures supporting business intelligence and analytics.
- Manage code bases using version control tools like Git to facilitate collaboration and maintain code integrity.
- Adhere to data governance policies including data quality standards and security practices to ensure compliance and protection of sensitive data.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala tailored toward data engineering tasks.
- Solid experience working with SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud-based deployments and management of data solutions.
- Fluent understanding of data governance, data quality, and security requirements.
