Job description
Overview
Join our Plastics department operating at the Carrickmacross plant, responsible for machinery operation and plastic waste processing while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies. This role requires participation in a three-shift rotating work schedule.
Key Duties
- Processing of plastic waste according to operational needs.
- Operating machinery such as shredders, wash plants, and extruders as required.
- Loading and unloading vehicles when necessary.
- Participating in newly developed or existing company services.
- Adhering to company standard operating procedures and waste license requirements.
- Completing essential paperwork and administrative tasks as requested by supervisors.
- Following all health and safety policies and wearing required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Promptly reporting safety concerns, accidents, or incidents to management.
- Reporting and following up on non-conformances to maintain compliance.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment with excellent housekeeping standards.
- Communicating operational and process issues directly to management promptly.
- Attending plant, company meetings, and training sessions as mandated.
- Providing operational assistance across various business areas including off-site operations such as waste oil and garage services.
- Remaining flexible to carry out additional duties as requested by management.
- Maintaining cleanliness and operational readiness of vehicles, equipment, materials, and PPE, and reporting any damage or loss immediately.
- Conducting checks, inspections, and audits as directed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts or power pallet trucks is advantageous, though not mandatory; training is provided.
- Demonstrated high accuracy and thorough attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-motivated and proactive work ethic.
- Adaptable and flexible to meet evolving business requirements.
