Job description

About the Role

The Missouri Army National Guard is seeking a skilled Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Developer to join their Construction and Facility Management Office (CFMO) team. This role supports the geospatial needs of over 12,000 Soldiers, Airmen, and civilian personnel across Missouri. The position is full-time, permanent, and offers comprehensive benefits including medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, and accrued vacation and sick leave. The work location is onsite at Ike Skelton Training Site in Jefferson City, MO, and remote or hybrid work options are not available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create maps and reports assisting the Construction and Facilities Maintenance Officer for decision-making, facility analysis, and location evaluations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain web maps, applications, and dashboards using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Portal to support CFMO and MOARNG operations statewide.
  • Gather, process, query, and analyze GNSS/GPS and GIS data across Missouri National Guard installations and maintain this data within the agency's Common Installation Picture (CIP) geodatabase.
  • Operate various equipment including unmanned aerial systems (UAS), GPS survey tools, utility tracing devices, and GIS/CAD software suites.
  • Ensure GIS data quality and integrity by adhering to Spatial Data Standards for Facilities Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE) as prescribed by the Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and Army National Guard policies.
  • Collaborate extensively with GIS staff from Environmental Management and Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) programs through cross-training and joint assignments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of four years’ experience in a GIS-related field or a comparable combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Preferred: Degree in Geography or Computer Science focused on GIS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Arcade, or other relevant coding languages.
  • Familiarity with SDSFIE data standards is an advantage.
  • Military experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
