Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Head of Engineering to oversee the strategic and operational leadership of our Engineering & Maintenance team managing a comprehensive Healthcare LIFT portfolio. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will guide the engineering functions, ensuring rigorous compliance, safety, and operational excellence across multiple sites in Warrington and London, with regular travel within the healthcare estate portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Engineering team to provide effective, safe, and compliant Hard FM services across multi-site healthcare estates.
- Collaborate with Contract Managers and Compliance teams to maintain statutory compliance, technical governance, and quality assurance.
- Act as chief representative for engineering audits, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to contractual and statutory requirements.
- Manage engineering reporting, resource allocation, contractor performance, asset lifecycle, and maintenance activities.
- Contribute to commercial objectives by assisting in budget preparation, financial forecasting, procurement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience overseeing Hard FM services in complex, multi-site estates within PPP/PFI healthcare environments.
- In-depth expertise in building services engineering, including statutory compliance with healthcare-specific standards such as HTMs and HBNs.
- Proven leadership skills managing engineering teams, contractors, and engaging diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Commercially astute with strong capabilities in performance management, contract delivery, and budget responsibility.
- Relevant qualifications such as HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
Work Conditions and Benefits
- Salary up to £85,000 per year plus an annual bonus.
- Standard working hours of 40 per week, Monday to Friday.
- Office locations in Warrington and London, with regular travel required across healthcare sites.
