Job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled High Voltage Electrician or Power Systems Technician to join a specialized team managing crucial electrical infrastructures at substations and power networks across New Zealand, based in Auckland.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, commissioning, and upkeep of high voltage electrical apparatus.
  • Maintain and work on transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
  • Conduct primary and secondary electrical system testing.
  • Diagnose faults in substations and control systems.
  • Execute installation and servicing of protection relays.
  • Test and commission current transformers (CTs) and voltage transformers (VTs).
  • Oversee cable testing and commissioning duties.
  • Carry out maintenance testing on high-voltage rotating equipment.
  • Handle operations on transformer control and battery systems.
  • Support projects involving outages, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Generate technical and quality-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and power network standards.
