Job description

Position Overview

The Department for Education in South Australia is seeking a Homestay Accommodation Coordinator to oversee and enhance international student accommodation services. This role ensures the provision of secure, culturally respectful, and high-quality homestay placements through effective stakeholder engagement, recruitment, and accreditation processes, in compliance with Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS), Child Protection, and relevant legislation.

Organizational Context

The Strategy and Performance Division leads statewide education improvement initiatives by supporting schools and preschools with data insights and strategy development. Within this, the International Education Services (IES) team focuses on the direction and growth of international education, collaborating with key partners such as schools, families, and government bodies to foster positive educational outcomes for international students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery and continuous enhancement of international student accommodation services.
  • Ensure compliance with ESOS, Child Protection laws, and other legislative mandates.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders including homestay families, schools, and agencies.
  • Recruit, assess, and accredit homestay families to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Provide expert advice to support departmental objectives.

Requirements

  • No mandatory qualifications specified, but the incumbent must obtain and maintain a Department for Human Services working with children check (WWCC).
  • Completion and ongoing renewal (every three years) of the RRHAN-EC Facilitator Lead Masterclass or Fundamentals online course is mandatory.

Remuneration

Salary range for this ASO5 level role is $92,122 to $102,456 annually, plus 12% superannuation and leave loading.
