Job description

Role overview

BSI is hiring a seasoned, people-oriented HR Generalist to join its People team in either Dubai or Qatar. The position focuses on delivering practical, end-to-end HR support across one or more countries and serving as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on a wide range of HR matters.

You will support the full employee journey, covering onboarding, payroll coordination, employee relations, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations. The role sits within a global matrix environment, so you will help maintain a consistent employee experience while ensuring local employment needs are handled in line with global policies and processes. You will also provide regular guidance to local HR Administrators to help keep HR service delivery running smoothly across the region.

Eligibility and location

This opportunity is open only to Emirati and Qatari nationals. Candidates must have the relevant local citizenship and an unrestricted right to work in the country of hire. Relocation assistance and sponsorship are not offered for this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary HR contact for employees and line managers across the assigned countries.
  • Handle core HR processes from start to finish, including onboarding, contract updates, benefits administration, leave tracking, payroll support, and offboarding.
  • Keep employee records and country-specific HR documents accurate and up to date in HR systems.
  • Offer first-level advice on HR policies, procedures, and employee lifecycle questions.
  • Guide managers on routine people processes and practical best-practice approaches.
  • Prepare payroll inputs and assist with monthly payroll cycles.
  • Support employee relations cases and escalate more complex issues when needed.
  • Stay informed on local employment legislation and help ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies.
  • Assist with rollout of regional and global HR initiatives, including leadership development, system updates, and performance-related processes.
  • Develop effective working relationships across the People team and the wider business to support a strong employee experience.
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement efforts for processes and ways of working.
  • Where applicable, coach and support local HR Administrators in their daily work.

Experience and skills required

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in a generalist or operational HR role. A strong understanding of employment law, HR policies, and people processes is essential, along with hands-on experience in a global or matrix-style organisation.

You should be comfortable working with HR/HCM systems and bring excellent communication, stakeholder management, organisation, and prioritisation skills. The role also requires professionalism, discretion, sound judgement, and a strong problem-solving mindset. Business English and local language proficiency relevant to the assigned countries are needed.

Preferred qualifications and experience

The following would be an advantage: an HR-related qualification or certification, experience supporting more than one country or region, exposure to employee relations work or close collaboration with ER teams, and involvement in HR transformation or process improvement initiatives.

Reward and working environment

BSI offers a competitive total reward package, an independent and varied role within an international setting, flexible working hours, and ongoing training and development.

The salary range for this position is AED 181,500 to AED 242,000 per year. The starting salary will depend on experience, skills, market factors, and internal equity considerations.
