This landmark project is set to leave a lasting place in Australian history.
Job Purpose
This role supports the Site-based Strategic Workforce Communications Lead by coordinating employee communication activities. The focus is on using creative storytelling and varied delivery methods to keep employees updated on FGJV’s strategic priorities and project progress, while strengthening connection, loyalty, and engagement around project values and the culture the workforce is expected to build.
Key Duties

- Assist with workforce announcements and site notices that share functional direction, as instructed by the Strategic Workforce Communications Lead.
- Refresh and maintain site communication materials, including workforce pages covering health and wellbeing, safety, environment, and other organisational updates.
- Support logistics for site events, including arranging catering paperwork, coordinating client approvals, and working with General Services as needed.
- Help drive attendance at site pre-starts so barriers and opportunities can be better understood and workforce engagement can be strengthened.
- Support training goals by reviewing communication approaches and carrying out pre-start spot checks that help leaders become more effective communicators.
- Create internal stories for communication channels that encourage a culture of care, connection, and shared values.
- Contribute to site communication plans for engagement events, including the logistical coordination needed for successful delivery.
- Take part in evaluating engagement tools through informal and formal feedback so improvements can be made in line with organisational needs.
Requirements
- Willingness to take responsibility for assigned duties while keeping a strong business focus.
- Ability to build and maintain mature, professional relationships with key stakeholders, as directed by the Strategic Workforce Communications Lead.
- Excellent writing ability, with the flexibility to learn and adopt the organisation’s brand voice quickly.
- Strong time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to work effectively within a site-based team.
- Good analytical thinking and a capacity to learn, adapt, and introduce new ideas.
- Comfort working across several projects at once, prioritising effectively, and understanding risk and project requirements in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to identify risk and escalate issues when required.
- At least 2 years’ background in communications, campaigns, and events.
- Relevant tertiary qualification, or studies completed toward a communication-related discipline.
- Technical confidence using online platforms such as WordPress, along with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
