Job description
Overview
The City of Liverpool College seeks an energetic and motivated HR Recruitment Apprentice to join its Human Resources department on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This full-time position offers 35 hours per week working onsite at the Arts Centre on Myrtle Street. The salary is £23,195 annually. The chosen candidate will gain thorough experience across all aspects of recruitment while supporting the Recruitment Manager, Recruitment Assistant, and the wider HR team. The role includes undertaking the CIPD Level 3 People Practice qualification as part of professional development.
Key Duties
- Provide administrative support through every recruitment stage: advertisement, shortlisting, interviewing, and appointment.
- Maintain and input data into HR databases and trackers accurately.
- Assist in sourcing and screening candidates as needed.
- Coordinate interview scheduling and communicate effectively with candidates, hiring managers, and other stakeholders.
- Handle all necessary new starter checks.
- Serve as the primary contact for bank staff inquiries.
- Raise requisitions and perform routine financial responsibilities.
- Prepare required reports and documentation.
- Support onboarding activities, from offer stage through induction and probation, coordinating with HR colleagues.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of sensitive information in compliance with data protection policies and GDPR.
- Carry out additional HR administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication, relationship building, and influencing capabilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and internet platforms.
- Ability to work independently with accountability and willingness to learn from feedback.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Innovative thinker with effective problem-solving aptitude.

Preferred Experience
- Prior exposure to office environments.
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders in busy settings.
- Language proficiency in any of the following: Arabic, Persian, Kurmanji (Northern Kurdish), Sorani (Central Kurdish), Portuguese, Spanish, Tigrinya, Vietnamese, or French.
