Role Overview
This position is centered on building and running the organization’s learning and development function. The role involves planning training strategy, identifying skill gaps, creating learning programs, handling delivery logistics, and ensuring that training initiatives contribute to business goals and employee growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the learning and development approach in line with the company’s broader objectives.
- Identify training priorities using needs analysis, performance reviews, and feedback from stakeholders.
- Create, design, and run training programs in formats such as classroom sessions, digital learning, and workshops.
- Measure how effective training has been through assessments, surveys, and participant feedback, then refine programs accordingly.
- Handle training budgets, materials, and coordination to keep sessions running smoothly and efficiently.
- Prepare and manage the annual training plan and calendar in coordination with department leaders.
- Oversee the development of training content, presentations, and support materials tied to learning goals.
- Facilitate sessions and workshops in a way that keeps learners engaged and involved.
- Review training delivery and outcomes regularly and make improvements where needed.
- Support external trainers and facilitators involved in company training initiatives.
- Monitor training metrics, key performance indicators, and return on investment to assess program impact.
- Work with HR and department managers to identify development opportunities and support career progression efforts.
- Keep up with current trends, tools, and best practices in learning and development.
Candidate Profile
The company is looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree or MBA and at least 8 years of experience in training and development or a similar corporate training role. The ideal candidate should have a proven record of designing and delivering training programs, managing initiatives and timelines, and using learning technology platforms effectively.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Background in training and development, organizational psychology, or a related advanced field.
- Professional certification in learning and development such as CPTD, CPLP, or ATD Master Trainer.
- Experience using e-learning development tools and related technology.
- Understanding of competency-based learning and performance management practices.
- Ability to manage learning programs for teams with different language needs.
- Capability to handle budgets related to training activities.
