Job description

About Wave Mobile Money

Wave is on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent. In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa lacked access to bank accounts due to high fees, distant branches, and lack of card acceptance. Wave addresses these challenges by delivering financial services that are fee-free, instantly accessible, and widely accepted across regions even with infrastructural challenges. Launched initially in Senegal, Wave now serves millions across nine countries.

Role Overview

As an HR Systems Analyst, you will be pivotal in implementing a new HRIS platform and enhancing people technology in a high-growth fintech company. You will work closely with the HR Systems lead, translating the needs of the People team into technical configurations across multiple countries with different regulations and local requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the migration to a new HRIS in 2026 by managing system configuration, data migration, quality checks, and testing, ensuring continuity and minimal operational disruption.
  • Configure and customize workflows within the HRIS to adhere to company policies and compliance standards.
  • Implement and adapt HR systems and workflows such as internal service desk rollout and policy adherence tracking.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to HR system workflows to reduce manual effort and increase automation.
  • Assist in future system migrations and integration involving Talent Management, Workforce Management, and Payroll systems.
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and perform testing to ensure smooth system functionality.
  • Train HR team members and end users on HRIS capabilities and updates.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for troubleshooting system issues and technical support.
  • Lead HR data quality initiatives by collaborating across HR, Talent, and Payroll teams to ensure consistent data standards and conduct audits.
  • Develop strategic dashboards and reports integrating performance and learning data to assist HR and business decisions.
  • Ensure data privacy compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Monitor HR data compliance across jurisdictions and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Fluency in English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of HRIS administration experience within organizations exceeding 5,000 employees.
  • Hands-on experience managing multiple HR system modules including Talent Management, HCM, Compensation, and L&D.
  • Preference for candidates with Workday experience.
  • Knowledge of HR processes including payroll, benefits, performance management, talent acquisition, and learning development.
  • Experience with full-cycle HRIS implementations, upgrades, and system integrations.
  • Proficiency in HRIS configuration, workflow design, and reporting tools.
  • Advanced skills in data management, analytics, and business intelligence platforms like PowerBI or Looker.
  • Understanding of system integrations leveraging APIs and middleware, collaborating effectively with technical teams.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.

Preferred Attributes

  • French language proficiency is an advantage.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Proactive and self-driven with ambition to meet challenging goals.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technology, simplifying complex problems, and automating manual workflows.

Additional Information

  • This position is fully remote and open to candidates based in specified talent hubs (UK, Spain, Kenya, Ghana) or operating African markets including Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, and Burkina Faso. Candidates must have work authorization and be able to work between UTC -1 and +3 with reliable internet access.
  • Annual travel to Africa for a one-week immersion trip is required and funded by Wave.
