Position Overview
The Human Resource Manager based in Kampala will lead the strategic and operational HR functions for the country office. This includes aligning HR policies with global standards and local labor laws, analyzing workforce needs, collaborating with leadership for effective talent management, and strengthening organizational culture through training and HR services that enhance overall effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate workforce trends, HR metrics, and organizational requirements to guide strategic planning and decisions.
- Develop HR policies, systems, and processes coherent with global standards and Ugandan labor laws.
- Partner with leadership and managers to maintain employee engagement, support performance, and facilitate a positive employee lifecycle.
- Conduct training sessions on HR policies, procedures, and development initiatives to build organizational capacity and compliance.
- Manage HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee wellbeing to ensure efficient service delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders across various levels in support of HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Strong analytical and planning skills to effectively assess needs, prioritize, and implement HR strategies.
- Proficient in HR information systems and tools to manage data and support organizational decision-making.
- Excellent communication and training capabilities to clarify HR policies and promote understanding company-wide.
- Skilled in managing complex HR processes while ensuring compliance, confidentiality, and high-quality service standards.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Human Resources, Business Administration, or closely related fields.
- At least 10 years of HR experience, including a minimum of 3 years in senior management roles.
- Experience within professional international business environments is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership in strengthening HR functions and managing the complete employment lifecycle.
- Track record advising senior leadership on HR matters and driving strategic initiatives at a high level.
- Experience executing significant HR change projects across organizations.
- Membership in the Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda (HRMAU) is mandatory.

- Effective organizational, planning, and implementation skills.
- Experience in talent acquisition, development, mentoring, coaching, and advisory roles.
