About the role
Fluor is looking for an HVAC Designer to contribute to design work and 3D layout development for projects of moderate scope. The role is carried out with detailed direction and review, and it supports the Design Area Lead or Lead with solid technical input and dependable execution. The position is part of a workplace culture that values collaboration, innovative thinking, and high-quality delivery.
What you will do
- Create 2D CAD drawings of moderate complexity.
- Check drawings and vendor equipment documents of basic to moderate complexity from the relevant discipline and related disciplines to confirm they match project requirements, while working toward resolution of any gaps or conflicts.
- Carry out bulk material take-off analysis and prepare tabulations.
- Work in line with applicable industry codes, standards, and internal department procedures.
- Take on additional tasks when assigned.
What the role requires
- An accredited two-year technical degree or an equivalent global qualification, or a mix of education and directly relevant experience totaling six years.
- Clear communication skills for interaction with management, colleagues, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Technical knowledge needed to complete the role effectively.
- Ability to understand and apply relevant local, state/provincial, and national laws and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a timely and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of material availability in the market and cost considerations.
- Practical field experience.
- Intermediate computer proficiency, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
