About the Role
The Innovation Manager plays a pivotal role in steering innovation activities within Mediclinic Middle East. This individual leads initiatives such as hackathons, open innovation programs, and bottom-up idea generation to transform novel concepts into practical solutions that promote strategic growth, patient benefit, and long-term sustainability in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage innovation programs including hackathons, accelerators, and challenges that reveal actionable solutions ready for fast adoption and encourage creative problem solving.
- Support early-stage innovation by facilitating pilot projects, collecting real-world data, and transitioning successful concepts into operational implementations.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and industry partners to validate applications, foster research, and develop initiatives ensuring enduring clinical, financial, and social impacts.
- Direct development, testing, validation, and seamless integration of commercial or partner platforms into clinical and business processes.
- Formulate commercialization strategies including go-to-market plans, securing stakeholder endorsement, and overseeing large-scale deployments to optimize uptake and revenue generation.
Educational Qualifications
- Mandatory: Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Innovation Management, Health Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- Preferred: Professional certifications in Innovation Management, Design Thinking, or Lean Startup methodologies.
Experience Requirements
- Over five years of experience leading innovation initiatives, open innovation challenges, or business incubation efforts, especially within healthcare.
- Proven record in organizing hackathons, advancing early-stage innovations through commercialization, and implementing business sustainability projects.
Skill Set and Knowledge Areas
- Competence in visualizing and designing delivery systems for new projects.
- Proficiency with Agile methodologies and design thinking approaches to address innovation challenges.
- Experience with Application Portfolio Management and innovation pipeline tools.
- Familiarity with Project Portfolio Management software (such as PPO).
- Expertise in commercialization strategies and go-to-market processes.
- Ability to influence and engage various stakeholders, including project managers, hospital personnel, and system users, to achieve training and adoption targets.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies, including natural language processing.
- Awareness and application of ethical considerations and ethical product knowledge.
