About the Role
The Inspector I position at Core Laboratories is responsible for conducting essential sampling procedures on vessels, rail/road vehicles, and shore tanks. This role involves collecting petrochemical fluid samples, and in some regions, dry cargo samples, ensuring they are accurately labeled, securely stored, and safely transported to the laboratory for analysis. The job requires working in challenging environments, including at heights and in confined spaces, and necessitates strict adherence to safety protocols when handling hazardous materials. The role involves irregular working hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Perform sampling of petrochemical liquids and dry cargo according to established procedures.
- Adhere to client directives, Saybolt Standard procedures, the Global Safety Manual, and company policies.
- Successfully complete training and examinations related to petroleum, chemical, and gas inspection, hazardous materials transport, and safety protocols.
- Ensure all collected samples are correctly labeled with product details, storage method, sampling time, and inspector's name, and are stored securely.
- Facilitate the timely and safe transit of samples to the laboratory.
- Provide support to senior inspectors with their inspection duties as needed.
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance expertise.
- Uphold the confidentiality of all company and client information.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a dedication to operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma or an equivalent educational qualification.
- Ideally, have at least one year of prior experience in a customer-focused industry.
- Hold a valid Class B driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Possess a valid work permit for employment in Germany.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively share knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
Skills and Attributes
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in German (minimum B2 level) and basic English (A2 level).
- Be capable of performing fundamental mathematical calculations.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to safety regulations.
- Work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Possess knowledge regarding the handling of hazardous materials and transportation regulations.
- Be familiar with the processes of handling and documenting laboratory samples.
- Display excellent teamwork capabilities and resilience in a physically demanding work setting.
- Demonstrate high levels of reliability, honesty, punctuality, accuracy, and meticulousness.
- Be willing to participate in all required training sessions.
- Have a good command of Microsoft Office applications.
