Position Overview

Case Western Reserve University's Department of Biochemistry invites applications for a permanent, 12-month Instructor faculty role. This non-tenure-track position is primarily focused on delivering high-quality teaching, student advising, and supporting the department's educational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic advising to undergraduate students on course selection, research opportunities, and career guidance.
  • Collaborate with faculty to assist in teaching activities including assessing student performance.
  • Hold regular office hours for student support and guidance.
  • Manage and teach laboratory courses for undergraduate, master's students, and summer research participants.

Candidate Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biology, or a related discipline.
  • Previous teaching experience is desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an annual starting salary range between $65,000 and $80,000. Salary offers are determined based on job responsibilities, experience, qualifications, and internal equity, among other factors.
