Job Overview

The Intake Coordinator plays a key role in delivering excellent service by handling telephone, written, and electronic inquiries with accuracy and respect. These communications may include pre-certification requests, benefit verification, case status inquiries, and more. This position supports business units including Luminare Health, Small Business Benefits, and essential clients.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interpret documents, policies, criteria, and instructions.
  • Capability to compose standard correspondence and reports.
  • Skill in conversing effectively with clients, providers, family members in crisis, coworkers, and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
  • Practical reasoning to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Problem-solving ability with multiple variables in standardized contexts.
  • Analytical capability to evaluate situations, propose solutions, and recognize trends.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills to manage time-sensitive assignments efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal communication capabilities.
  • Multitasking proficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality, be flexible, and open to learning new tasks.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, team-focused setting as well as independently with minimal guidance.

Preferred Experience

  • Certification in medical coding or transcription.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or insurance sectors.
  • Call center experience beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Compensation and Benefits

The company offers a robust benefits package including health and wellness programs, 401(k) and pension plans, paid time off including holidays and parental leave, disability and supplemental life insurance, employee assistance, tuition reimbursement, and more. Salary ranges between $18.07 and $33.92 per hour and will be determined based on skills, experience, education, and location. This role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus subject to plan terms.
