About the Role
The Intelligence Analyst position involves supporting the coordination of intelligence capabilities to effectively gather, analyze, and distribute information and intelligence within WorkSafe Victoria. Reporting to the Principal Intelligence Analyst in Health and Safety, the role enhances strategic decision-making and operational efficiency by delivering actionable intelligence. This position is based in Melbourne CBD on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung land and operates on a hybrid schedule with three days onsite.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment and identify priorities including emerging threats and fraudulent or criminal activities.
- Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to refine intelligence requirements that address knowledge gaps and align with organizational priorities.
- Produce intelligence collection and analysis to support WorkSafe Victoria’s priorities and preventive programs.
- Contribute analytical insights to prioritize intelligence collection focused on risks and emerging issues.
- Apply diverse analytical techniques to examine data, validate assumptions, detect trends, and reinforce evidence-based assessments.
- Effectively communicate intelligence assessments to operational teams and stakeholders using verbal, written, and visual methods.
Candidate Profile
Applicants will have extensive experience in intelligence processes, tradecraft, and methodologies, coupled with strong stakeholder engagement skills. They are expected to influence and foster productive relationships internally and externally.
- Proven experience in tactical or operational intelligence roles in regulatory, law enforcement, or national intelligence settings.
- Ability to evaluate and interpret data within an intelligence framework to inform assessments and regulatory choices.
- Skilled in developing actionable intelligence products addressing complex issues and emerging risks.
- Proficiency with analytic tools that support intelligence evaluation.
- Knowledgeable in intelligence frameworks, standards, and systems.
- Experienced in producing detailed intelligence products at strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
- Adept at aligning operational initiatives with strategic corporate objectives.
- Competent decision-maker who collaborates effectively to meet deadlines with high-quality output.
- Committed to continuous improvement and adaptable to dynamic change.
- Willingness to travel occasionally between Geelong and Melbourne offices.
Qualifications
A professional or tertiary qualification relevant to intelligence is required.

Additional Information
- Salary is $124,535 annually plus 12% superannuation.
- This is a permanent, full-time position.
