Job Overview

Freeman French Freeman is seeking an entry-level Interior Designer for their Burlington, Vermont office specializing in commercial interiors. This role supports the interior design team and reports to the Director of Interiors, contributing across all stages of design projects. The position includes preparing client and construction documents, attending client meetings, and managing the sample library.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing conceptual designs, space plans, finish selections, and construction documents.
  • Create design presentations such as concept boards, renderings, and finish boards.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and external consultants.
  • Attend client meetings and document meeting minutes.
  • Engage in the programming phase and prepare related reports.
  • Maintain and update the office's material sample library.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Possess a bachelor's or associate's degree in interior design or a related discipline; candidates with other relevant education or experience may also be considered based on demonstrated skills.
  • 0 to 3 years of professional experience in interior design.
  • Working knowledge of Revit preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar visualization and presentation software is advantageous.
  • Interest in sustainable interior design practices.
  • Strong communication skills and proactive approach.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage time to meet deadlines.
