About the Role

ConsultANZ is inviting applications for an Intermediate Planner to join a prominent civil contractor based in Wellington. This role offers the chance to engage with complex civil infrastructure initiatives while enhancing your planning skills within a supportive, knowledgeable team environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and revise project schedules utilizing Microsoft Project.
  • Track project advancement to ensure schedules reflect actual site tasks and key milestones.
  • Contribute to programme development, including construction sequencing and resource allocation.
  • Compile planning documentation, update schedules, and forecast progress.
  • Detect risks, delays, and opportunities within programmes, proposing pragmatic solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to synchronize construction efforts with planned timelines.
  • Assist in project controls, reporting procedures, and efforts to improve continuously.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • At least four years of experience in project planning, controls, or civil construction.
  • Preferred experience includes work on civil infrastructure projects such as marine construction, roads, bridges, railways, water systems, or large-scale civil works.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project; familiarity with Primavera P6 is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Sound knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling techniques, and planning concepts.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, organizational ability, and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Effective communicator with a capacity to collaborate productively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Candidates holding a Civil Engineering degree who have transitioned into planning roles are strongly encouraged to apply.
