Job description
About the Project and Employer
Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) combines the engineering capabilities of WeBuild, Clough and Lane. The joint venture has been chosen to design and construct Snowy 2.0, a major pumped hydro development in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. The project is a landmark renewable energy initiative and is expected to leave a lasting contribution to Australia’s energy future.
Role Purpose
The main objective of this position is to review timesheets carefully against approved rosters and make sure hours are captured accurately with no mismatches.
Qualifications and Experience
A tertiary qualification in a relevant area such as Accounting is desirable but not mandatory. A White Card is required. Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience in a comparable role, ideally within the construction sector. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Suite and other presentation-oriented software is expected. Experience using several systems such as Roster Space, Microsoft Office Suite and E7 is preferred.
Competencies and Skills
The role calls for excellent written and spoken communication, a strong team approach, the ability to stay organised under pressure, and the discipline to work to deadlines. High attention to detail, good planning, solid negotiation ability, strong customer service, accountability, accurate record-keeping, time management, and confidence with computers and workplace systems are all important.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves keeping precise records of labour hours for each employee across project sites, checking timesheets against approved rosters, and investigating any differences. It also includes payroll administration tasks such as tracking hours and pay rates, calculating overtime, preparing payroll data for relevant state agencies, and recording start times, end times, breaks and meal periods from work orders.
Other duties include maintaining secure storage of timekeeping records, monitoring timecards for accuracy, making corrections where needed, reporting irregularities to supervisors, entering data into spreadsheets or other software, responding to lower-level pay queries, escalating issues that cannot be resolved, communicating with supervisors about progress or issues, and building effective working relationships with key site personnel.
Additional Information
The responsibilities listed may be adjusted by management or supervisors depending on project or business requirements.
Benefits
Employees may access a range of benefits, including a competitive salary, Employee Assistance Program support, paid parental leave, Qantas Club membership discounts, and professional development opportunities.
Working Conditions
This role is based in remote and challenging locations where very cold temperatures should be expected. Candidates should take these conditions into account before applying.
