Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Investment Banking Analyst to become part of our Sydney team, preferably those with expertise in the Infrastructure sector. This position involves engagement in a diverse array of prominent Australian transactions such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), raising capital, and offering strategic advice.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist senior bankers with the origination, structuring, and execution of M&A deals along with equity and other financial advisory services.
- Perform industry-specific research, conduct detailed financial analysis, and develop valuation assessments to support client proposals and transaction processes.
- Create comprehensive financial models, pitch presentations, and other materials for client engagements and transaction activities.
- Manage due diligence procedures, oversee data room activities, and coordinate with legal, compliance, and internal departments to facilitate smooth deal closures.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with clients, investors, and industry professionals to discover new business prospects and broaden the firm’s regional influence.
- Provide mentoring and development assistance for junior analysts, supporting their growth within the team.
Candidate Qualifications
- Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related discipline; MBA or CFA credentials are advantageous.
- Experience within investment banking, particularly involving M&A, capital markets, or corporate finance transactions.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and proficient user of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical abilities complemented by effective communication and presentation skills.
- Capacity to thrive in a high-pressure setting, juggle multiple tasks, and adhere to demanding deadlines.
