About the Role

Positioned at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara, Minor Hotels is a global hospitality group managing over 530 properties worldwide. The IT Executive will be responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the hotel's comprehensive information technology infrastructure, guaranteeing seamless operation of computer networks, software systems, and communication platforms. The role involves providing continuous technical support to various departments, safeguarding data security, and maximizing uptime of mission-critical hotel systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and troubleshoot diverse IT systems including Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS), accounting software, and other relevant hotel applications.
  • Oversee and maintain LAN/WAN networks, Wi-Fi connectivity, and server hardware.
  • Implement data backup procedures, disaster recovery strategies, and adhere to security protocols.
  • Offer daily technical assistance to hotel personnel covering hardware, software, email, and printing issues.
  • Configure new workstations, manage user accounts, and regulate access permissions.
  • Deliver training sessions on appropriate IT system usage and compliance with IT policies.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers for maintenance and upgrades of hardware, software, and networks.
  • Schedule and execute regular system updates and preventive maintenance checks.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT assets, licenses, and warranty records.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and PCI-DSS standards to protect sensitive information.
  • Monitor system security, prevent unauthorized access, and conduct periodic audits for efficiency and regulatory adherence.
  • Supervise hotel telecommunication systems such as IP phones, PBX, and VoIP.
  • Maintain seamless guest internet connectivity and promptly resolve network issues.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Two to four years of IT support experience, with hospitality industry experience being advantageous.
  • Proficient knowledge of hotel-specific systems such as PMS, POS, Back Office systems, CCTV, and PBX.
  • Experience working with Windows Server environments, MS Office suite, and managing LAN/WAN networks and Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities along with excellent communication skills.
  • Capability to operate effectively under pressure and availability to provide round-the-clock IT support when necessary.
