Position Overview
Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) seeks a dedicated IT Support Technician passionate about delivering IT assistance, possessing strong communication abilities, and excelling at problem-solving. Reporting to the IT Manager, the role involves contributing to the support and development of current and future IT systems and infrastructure. Success requires adherence to quality standards and effectiveness working both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic IT environment.
Key Duties
- Address hardware and software troubleshooting for internal IT systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstation hardware, software, and related peripherals for end-users.
- Assist helpdesk operations and ensure complete resolution to end-user issues.
- Provide support to other departments regarding their IT systems and technology resources.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the IT Manager or Deputy Chief of Administrative Transformation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Working understanding of computer hardware, software, networks, and systems.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields is preferred.
- At least one year of relevant experience in a comparable IT support role.
- Combinations of experience and education relevant to the position are considered advantages.
Knowledge and Skills
- Highly skilled in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Awareness of strategic and operational IT planning.
- Ability to handle matters discreetly and maintain confidentiality of user information.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication competencies.
- Good time management and task prioritization with sound decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within teams.
- Positive disposition towards adapting to challenges in areas undergoing rapid growth.
Additional Terms
- The role is structured around a 37.5-hour workweek, Monday through Friday.
- A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license or dependable transportation to the workplace at 310 20th St E, Saskatoon, is mandatory.
- The successful applicant must complete a Criminal Record Check.
