Junior Manager - Airside Operations

Job Purpose

Assist the Shift-in Charge in overseeing processes and managing resources at the airside of Goa Mopa International Airport. This role involves ensuring all activities comply with DGCA/ICAO regulations and GGIAL Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe and efficient airside operations. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, addressing observations, and enforcing safety regulations to meet Aerodrome License requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage availability and serviceability of airside resources such as runways, taxiways, parking stands, aeronautical ground lighting, passenger boarding bridges, visual docking guidance systems, and other pertinent equipment at all times.
• Conduct regular and ad-hoc inspections of maneuvering areas, movement zones, perimeter fencing, RANADS site, and other airside installations to facilitate safe and smooth aircraft operations.
• Provide vigilant surveillance of all aircraft movements and activities on the apron and service roads to proactively identify hazards, report communication errors, and ensure adherence to safety clearances and SOPs.
• Enforce ICAO and DGCA regulations alongside GGIAL's Airside Safety policies to address and resolve any violations promptly.

Stakeholder Interaction

• Coordinate with external bodies including DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation, airlines, air traffic control, ground handlers, and service providers.
• Liaise internally with GGIAL functional teams such as IT, Procurement, Commercial & Business Development, HR, Management, Project teams, Airside Operations Control Centre, Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting, Planning & Engineering, and Security.

Financial and Additional Responsibilities

• Contribute to the effective management of the Annual Operating Plan and budget aspects related to airside operations.

Required Education and Experience

• A graduate degree, preferably in engineering.
• Accredited certification in Airport Operations and Management is preferred.
• Valid Light Motor Vehicle driving license required.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in air traffic control or airside operations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and internet tools.
• Strong knowledge of aerodrome design, operations, ICAO documentation, DGCA civil aviation requirements (especially Annex 14, CAR-Section 4 Series B Part I, Doc 9157, Doc 9137, Doc 9859), and relevant aviation standards and policies.

Competencies

• Proficient in aeronautical information systems, aerodrome licensing frameworks, wildlife hazard control, global reporting formats, runway and apron management.
• Knowledgeable in airside vehicle operations, cargo handling, airfield work progress management, emergency procedures, visual aids management, physical aerodrome characteristics, low visibility and night operations, and safety management systems.
