We are seeking a Junior Software Development Engineer in Test (Junior QA Engineer) to enhance the quality and reliability of our software products through manual and automated testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and Scrum members to comprehend requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Design, document, and update comprehensive test cases and scenarios.
- Conduct manual functional, regression, integration, and exploratory tests.
- Verify functionalities of new features, enhancements, customizations, and system integrations.
- Detect, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps.
- Perform retesting of resolved bugs and execute regression tests prior to releases.
- Assist business stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing for validating new functionalities.
- Maintain precise records of test cases, outcomes, and identified issues.
- Develop and uphold automated test scripts guided by senior team members, employing tools like Playwright or Cypress.
- Analyze automated test results and troubleshoot failures.
- Enhance automated coverage on critical user workflows.
- Adopt and propagate test automation standards and best development practices.
- Integrate automated tests within continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Test APIs, data flows, and system interactions using relevant tools.
- Collaborate with developers to resolve data or integration related defects.
- Ensure data consistency and accuracy across systems and environments.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Engage proactively with developers to detect and resolve quality concerns early in development cycles.
- Contribute insights regarding test coverage, product risks, and readiness for release.
- Support setup and upkeep of test environments and test data.
- Gain knowledge and receive mentoring through code reviews and pairing sessions.
- Stay updated on emerging testing technologies, tools, and methodologies.
- Offer suggestions to enhance testing efficiency, reliability, and overall product quality.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields.
- Between 1 to 2 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or development.
- Hands-on exposure to test automation via professional roles, internships, academic, or personal projects.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is advantageous.
- Understanding of software testing principles and software development life cycle.
- Proficient in creating and executing manual test cases.
- Familiarity with test automation platforms like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools.
- Basic programming/scripting skills in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or Java.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman is a plus.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs, JSON structures, and data validation.
- Awareness of CI/CD pipeline concepts and continuous testing approaches is beneficial.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools like Jira and TestRail.
- Advantageous to have tested Salesforce or other SaaS solutions, though not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to quality delivery.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
