Overview

Join a progressive engineering firm in Toronto dedicated to revolutionizing the design and construction of buildings. Entuitive seeks a Junior Structural Designer to become part of a skilled team focused on complex special projects in structural engineering.

Role Responsibilities

  • Engage in a combination of field and office duties.
  • Office tasks include producing detailed reports after field visits, conducting computer-based structural analysis and design, preparing comprehensive structural designs with calculations conforming to Canadian regulations, and creating tender packages for contractor bids.
  • Collaborate with project teams from initial assessments through to construction completion, including reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and generating as well as assisting with contract administration documents.
  • Field responsibilities cover site visits to inspect proposed changes, assessing existing structures, taking measurements for evaluation and reinforcement, attending construction meetings, and performing periodic inspections during construction.
  • Contribute actively to learning and supporting the company’s unified philosophy and technical standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to enhancing and delivering design projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a relevant degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Between one to four years of pertinent experience in the field.
  • Prior experience in design, construction, or work with existing facilities is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of interacting with diverse stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Sound understanding of construction materials and systems, focusing on concrete, steel, and wood.
  • Interest in adopting innovative technologies to enhance project workflows.
  • Proficiency with software such as SAP, Bluebeam, Woodworks, and Microsoft Office suites.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle throughout employment.
