Job description
Role overview
This position is part of a high-performance team focused on helping consulting teams and clients solve complex questions in the paper and packaging space. The work combines research, analysis, and synthesis of market and business information to produce practical insights and fact-based recommendations.
Who you will collaborate with
You will work with colleagues who value resilience, curiosity, and strong execution. The environment emphasizes continuous development through coaching, structured learning, and regular feedback. Team members at every level contribute ideas, support growth, and uphold high standards of ethics and integrity.
You will be part of a global network of knowledge professionals, including senior specialists and a wider community of more than 7,000 colleagues across the Client Capabilities Network. The broader team operates internationally and brings together diverse perspectives from over 100 nationalities in 65+ countries.
Key impact areas
In this role, you will apply your understanding of business and technology trends in paper, packaging, and related materials industries to answer complex questions efficiently. Your work will support consulting teams and clients by turning research into actionable insight.
You will contribute to larger client engagements as well as internal knowledge initiatives, especially in paper and packaging. This includes gathering information from databases and primary or secondary research sources, building a strong fact base, and advising consultants and clients on market, business, and economic dynamics relevant to the issue being addressed.
You will also help identify the core problem, choose the most suitable approach, and balance quality, speed, availability, and cost. Typical analysis may include benchmarking, trend analysis, industry profiling, market sizing, growth forecasting, and opportunity assessment. The role may cover short research assignments, longer project support, and the creation of comprehensive publications.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in STEM, Economics, or Business. At least 1 year of relevant experience in pulp, paper, packaging, or a related industrial sector is expected, and exposure to consulting is considered a strong advantage.
A solid grasp of the commercial and economic forces shaping the paper and packaging industry is important, including value-chain economics, supply and demand behavior, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of sustainability, recycling, or circular-economy developments in packaging would be beneficial.
The role requires confidence with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with analytics or visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, or Python is a plus. Strong teamwork, sharp problem-solving ability, careful attention to detail, and clear English communication are also essential.
What the role offers
You can expect a culture centered on learning, apprenticeship, and mentorship, with opportunities to receive meaningful feedback and accelerate your development. The organization also emphasizes giving employees a voice, valuing new ideas, and fostering collaboration across a global community.
In addition to a competitive salary aligned to location, experience, and skills, a broad benefits package is offered to support the well-being of employees and their families.
