About the Role
Dynacare is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join their team in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the collection of high-quality biological samples and performing various patient tests, aligning with Dynacare's core mission and values. Key Qualifications
- Completion of Secondary School and a specialized Laboratory Assistant training program, including phlebotomy expertise.
- A strong customer-centric approach with a genuine commitment to patient well-being.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, with the ability to manage patients, including those who are anxious, in a calm and reassuring manner.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and understandable patient instructions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a best-in-class customer experience, engaging individuals with information about our services.
- Accurately input patient and test details for Ministry of Health requisitions.
- Collect blood samples and other specimens using skilled venipuncture techniques, adhering to Dynacare's standards.
- Process and manage specimens, perform ECGs, Holter hookups, and conduct paternity, urine, drug, and breath alcohol collections.
- Ensure all specimens and accompanying documentation meet SOP requirements for data entry and transport, following protocols for sample suitability.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all patient information.
- Contribute to achieving departmental and corporate quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and quality indicators.
Additional Information
Status: Full-Time, permanent
Guaranteed Hours: 85 hours bi-weekly
Shift Details: Day shifts including Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM; and every Sunday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
