About the Role
WSP is looking for an early-career Laboratory Technician to join its Petone, Lower Hutt laboratory within the Pavements and Materials team. This role is a strong fit for a recent science graduate who wants to build hands-on experience in an applied laboratory setting. You will support bitumen testing and contribute to the wider pavements research programme.

What You Will Do

- Capture, organise, and document results with a high degree of precision.
- Assist with routine upkeep and calibration of lab instruments and equipment.
- Contribute ideas and support efforts to improve laboratory workflows and processes.
What You Need
- A relevant science qualification, ideally in materials, chemistry, or a similar discipline.
- Comfort operating in a structured laboratory environment where precision matters.
- A careful and methodical approach to following procedures.
- Interest in learning and a naturally inquisitive mindset.
- A current, clean New Zealand driver licence.

Some safety-sensitive roles may involve fieldwork and could require working in different environmental conditions, including remote or isolated locations, working alone, and exposure to poor weather, within safe and reasonable limits.
WSP welcomes applications from people with disabilities and can provide accommodations during the selection process on request. The company is committed to employment equity. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Unsolicited agency resumes are not accepted.
