About the Role

The Electronic Government Authority (EGA) serves as the central agency that drives the digital transformation across the Ras Al Khaimah Emirate, offering unified technological services, governance, and innovation for all government departments. The EGA licenses Microsoft 365 E5, granting comprehensive access to Microsoft’s suite spanning productivity, collaboration, identity, endpoint management, security, and compliance.

We are seeking a Lead for the Microsoft 365 Platform to act as EGA's primary technical expert for the complete M365 E5 ecosystem across the government of Ras Al Khaimah. This role requires hands-on technical management with considerable platform oversight.

Responsibilities

• Govern and administer the Microsoft 365 tenant architecture ensuring all services meet stringent security and configuration standards aligned with Microsoft’s best practices, including baseline configurations, reference architectures, and governance controls.
• Manage Entra ID features like MFA, Conditional Access, Single Sign-On, application registrations, privileged access, and administrative roles.
• Oversee the hybrid Active Directory environment, including on-premises AD and Entra Connect synchronization, and systematically address security assessment findings.
• Control mobile device management settings using Microsoft Intune covering device compliance, configuration profiles, app deployment, and updates.
• Lead implementation of Microsoft Purview governance with features such as sensitivity labels, retention policies, DLP, audit logging, and eDiscovery, following EGA’s data classification standards.
• Coordinate with Information Security to operate and optimize Microsoft Defender for Office 365 protections against phishing, malicious links, and attachments.
• Manage the architecture and administration of Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.
• Lead preparation and governance for Microsoft 365 Copilot integration and phased deployment, focusing on prerequisites, data governance, security controls, and adoption strategy.
• Engage closely with Microsoft and the M365 community to monitor platform developments, evaluate roadmap updates, and translate them into action plans for EGA.
• Maintain Microsoft 365 licensing governance, tracking entitlement usage, optimizing SKU allocation, and contributing technically to contract renewals and negotiations.
• Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for critical Microsoft 365 platform issues and maintain detailed platform documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Between 8 and 12 years of experience in Microsoft 365 system administration and engineering, with increasing levels of responsibility and technical mastery.
• Mandatory Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102) certification; additional certifications such as SC-300, SC-400, or MD-102 are highly beneficial.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 tenant architecture and administration across core services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.
• Demonstrated expertise managing hybrid Active Directory environments with proficiency in Entra Connect and identity remediation activities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Intune for device compliance and endpoint management in a live production setting.
• Experience configuring Microsoft Purview security and compliance features such as sensitivity labeling, DLP, and retention.
• Strong skills in PowerShell scripting to automate Microsoft 365 administrative tasks.
• Understanding of Microsoft licensing models including E3/E5 plans and enterprise/commercial contract structures.
• Experience working within government, regulated, or public sector technology environments, especially in the GCC region, is an advantage.
• Fluent English communication skills are essential.
