Lead QA/QC Engineer

Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Lead QA/QC Engineer will oversee inspection and testing activities associated with electrical systems, instrumentation loops, control panels, cables, and field devices, ensuring adherence to approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Primary duties include supervising cable laying and termination inspections, instrument calibration and loop checks, panel installation verification including Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT), as well as earthing and lightning protection systems evaluations.

Monitoring and evaluating quality feedback from multiple project sites to assess performance and develop quality improvement proposals forms a vital part of the role. The incumbent will collaborate with internal teams to enhance customer satisfaction through strengthened quality measures.

Technical Support and Subcontractor Evaluation

Providing technical guidance to coordinators during project proposal preparations and cost estimation falls within the scope of responsibilities. Additionally, troubleshooting quality control-related issues and supporting the technical assessment of subcontractors and suppliers in line with organizational policies are required.

Training and Development

This position demands preparation and delivery of training materials for quality control practices. The Lead QA/QC Engineer will conduct sessions to train and coach new personnel on inspection and testing methodologies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge sharing on lessons learned and client-driven requirements within shop and site teams.

Productivity Enhancement and Quality Cost Management

The role requires investigating and implementing advanced techniques, equipment, and tools, collaboratively with vendors and internal process and commercial teams, to boost productivity in construction and manufacturing processes. Ensuring the implementation of cost of quality and customer feedback mechanisms at project sites to enable timely improvements is also expected.

Customer Liaison and Safety Compliance

Providing assistance to business units and project management in responding to client inquiries related to quality aspects is essential. The Lead QA/QC Engineer will assume ownership of the company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies by managing risk, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring compliance with all relevant QA/QC standards (including DIMS documents).

Additional responsibilities include guaranteeing full adherence to ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System policies and objectives, and ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management System policies and objectives, to uphold the highest service quality.
