Overview
Wonderbrands in Etobicoke, ON is actively seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to become an integral part of their Maintenance Team. This role involves supporting production operations by maintaining and repairing critical machinery to ensure continuous and effective production of bakery products.
Primary Duties
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to guide work procedures.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and sustaining power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, and programmable logic control systems.
- Inspecting machinery to identify irregularities or malfunctions and rectifying defects.
- Using machine tools like lathes and milling machines to fabricate parts needed during equipment overhaul or maintenance.
- Assembling machinery and equipment using various hand and power tools, including welding equipment.
- Assisting in repairs and installations of processing equipment, with an understanding of electrical components aiding effective outcomes.
- Optimizing equipment safety, uptime, and efficiency; participating in continuous improvement projects and adhering to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Following all regulatory, environmental, and food safety policies specific to bakery operations.
- Maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment and adhering strictly to health and safety standards.
- Performing other related responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a valid Red Seal Industrial Millwright License (433A).
- Between 2 to 5 years of mechanical experience in an industrial setting, with preference for previous involvement in the food industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems along with machine shop practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities coupled with effective communication skills.
- Comfort with computer use and the ability to operate independently as well as in a team setting.
- Physical capability to occasionally lift weights up to 50 lbs.
- Aptitude to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with varying daily challenges.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including afternoons (3PM-11PM), overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Work Details & Location
- Worksite: 122 Carrier Drive, Etobicoke, ON M9W 5R1
- Shift: Afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM; flexibility required.
- Hourly wage: $43.00 per hour.
