Role Overview

We are searching for Maintainer Operators to join our manufacturing team at Laminex Taupō. This role requires hands-on operation, setup, and maintenance of plant equipment to support safe and efficient production processes. You will be responsible for setting machine parameters, monitoring performance to ensure quality standards, troubleshooting issues, assisting with forklift operations, and contributing to a collaborative safety-focused environment.

The shift pattern involves rotating schedules of 4 days on and 4 days off, comprising 2 day shifts followed by 2 night shifts, with an average 42-hour workweek.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ prior experience as a Maintainer Operator, preferably in a wood-based manufacturing setting.
  • Proven skills in operating, setting up, and diagnosing plant machinery malfunctions.
  • Strong dedication to workplace health and safety, teamwork, and maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Basic proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and industrial digital control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and eagerness to learn and adapt technical skills swiftly in a practical environment.
  • Capability to work autonomously while actively contributing to team objectives.
  • Physical fitness suitable for jobs requiring work at heights and within confined spaces.
  • Holds a Class 1 Full Driver's Licence; possession of OSH Forklift Licence is advantageous.
  • Electrical or mechanical trade certification is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment medical assessments and criminal background checks for safety compliance.
  • Legal authorization to work in New Zealand.
