Role Overview
This Auckland-based Manager role sits within the Internal Audit and Risk Consulting practice, with responsibility for leading internal audit work that strengthens risk management, control, and governance. The position is based onsite in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead internal audit assignments from planning through execution and final reporting.
- Work closely with clients and maintain strong client relationships throughout engagements.
- Offer practical insights and recommendations that improve risk, control, and governance effectiveness.
- Ensure audits are carried out in line with internal audit standards and applicable regulations.
- Support, coach, and develop junior team members and encourage ongoing learning and improvement.
- Oversee the team delivering internal audit work and manage engagement budgets.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or a closely related area.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage people.
- Experience in professional services or within a large, complex, multi-faceted organisation is preferred.
- New Zealand working citizen or permanent resident status is preferred.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree is required.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CISM, CISSP, CBCP, CIPP, CPA, CISA, or CA will be viewed positively.
